Guidance From Experienced Rabbis
Converting to Judaism is a deeply personal journey, and you should not have to navigate it alone. Our experienced rabbinic team provides students with knowledgeable, compassionate guidance throughout the conversion process.
Every student comes to us with a different story, background, and reason for wanting to become Jewish. Our rabbis understand that no two conversion journeys are exactly alike. That is why personal guidance is such an important part of our program.
Through Jewish study, conversation, and one-on-one rabbinic support, we help students develop a meaningful understanding of Judaism and prepare for the responsibilities of Jewish life. From the beginning of your studies through the completion of your conversion, our rabbinic team is here to guide you along the way.
Rabbi Marc Rubenstein
Rabbi Marc Rubenstein has devoted more than 50 years to Jewish education, rabbinic leadership, and helping individuals convert to Judaism. As the lead rabbi of our online Jewish conversion program, he has guided students from around the world on their journey toward becoming Jewish.
Rabbi Marc studied at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, earned a bachelor’s degree from American University, received his rabbinical training at the Academy for Jewish Religion in New York, and earned a master’s degree in Jewish History from New York University.
Known for his personal approach, Rabbi Marc works closely with students throughout the conversion process, helping them develop the knowledge and confidence to build a meaningful Jewish life.
Rabbi Ted Feldman
Rabbi Ted Feldman has devoted decades to Jewish congregational leadership, education, and community service. He served as Rabbi of B’nai Israel Jewish Center of Petaluma from 2005 until his retirement in 2022, following many years of congregational and Jewish community leadership.
Beyond congregational life, Rabbi Feldman served for ten years as Executive Director of Jewish Family and Children’s Services of the East Bay and previously as Executive Director of the Jewish Federation of the Sacramento Region. His career has included extensive work in Jewish education, community relations, and organizational leadership.
Rabbi Feldman earned his undergraduate degree in psychology from Roosevelt University and received his Master of Arts and rabbinic ordination from the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York. He brings decades of experience, knowledge, and perspective to Jewish education and rabbinic guidance.
Rabbi/Cantor Marc Bachrach
Rabbi/Cantor Marc Bachrach brings more than 40 years of experience in Jewish spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and lifecycle ceremonies. Based in Southern California, he has served as spiritual leader of Makom Ohr Shalom in Encino and has guided individuals and families through many meaningful moments in Jewish life.
Known for his warm and welcoming approach, Rabbi/Cantor Bachrach has extensive experience working with people from diverse and interfaith backgrounds. Music is also an important part of his spiritual work, incorporating singing and chanting into his ministry.
His decades of experience as a spiritual leader and hospice chaplain bring warmth, compassion, and an inclusive spirit to his work within the Jewish community.
Sophie Klein
(Personal Assistant)
Sophie Ouk has worked closely with Rabbi Marc for more than five years and plays an important role in supporting students throughout the online Jewish conversion program. She assists with enrollment, course administration, and student support, and also serves as one of the instructors within the program.
Having completed her own conversion to Judaism, Sophie understands many of the questions and emotions students may experience during their journey. She brings that personal perspective to her work and is available to answer questions, provide guidance, and help students throughout their studies.
Sophie is committed to making sure students feel supported and connected as they progress through the program and take the next steps toward becoming part of the Jewish community.
